The Holland Harbor Lighthouse has a long history and has undergone a few transformations since the original structures were built. The current structure was painted red in 1956 by the Coast Guard per the standard where all aids to navigation on the right side of a harbor entrance be red in coloration. The best views are from Holland State Park across the channel. The structure is maintained by the Holland Harbor Lighthouse Historical Commission and the light is still maintained by the Coast Guard.
