Holland Harbor Lighthouse

After a Fourth of July dinner with my family, I headed over to Holland State Park to photograph the fireworks…or so I thought! There is a fireworks show every year, but I mistakenly thought it was on the 4th! Instead, I learned later that it was held the night before. Well, even so, it turned out to be a spectacular show by Mother Nature. There was an awesome sunset and even better show of colorful clouds and a prominent sun spike. That was all looking west. Once that show was over and the sun had set, I turned my attention to the Holland Harbor Lighthouse across the river. There was still some color in that direction, and I was able to stick around long enough to get the light showing. Unfortunately, the Holland Police were clearing the park as there’s a curfew at the park, so I couldn’t stick around long enough to also capture the inside lights that usually come on.
